The Council of Yukon First Nations has championed various initiatives in Information Technology being undertaken internally and on behalf of Yukon First Nations. Information presented illustrates projects started in October 2002 through to the present.
The e-Commerce Yukon Project is a partnership between the Council of Yukon First Nations, Government of Yukon's Department of Economic Development, and Industry Canada's Community Access Program. The vision of the project is to engage businesses and artisans in Yukon communities towards the adoption and development of an e-commerce presence. E-commerce has the potential to help residents sustain and enhance their rural lifestyle by providing a means to sell their goods and services outside of their community.
