The Yukon Geographical Place Names Board makes recommendations to the Minister of Tourism & Culture on the official recognition and approval of new, changed or rescinded names for geographical features in the Yukon.
The Yukon Geographical Place Names Board has authority under the Umbrella Final Agreement. The Board has six members, three nominated by Government of Yukon and three nominated by the Council for Yukon First Nations.
