Government of Yukon and First Nations to collaborate on shared priorities
Yukon’s premier and chiefs committed to work together on a number of shared priorities at today’s Yukon Forum.
Developed jointly by the Government of Yukon and First Nations governments, the priorities include fiscal matters; cooperation on justice, education, health, and heritage initiatives; implementing the land claim and self-government agreements; and ensuring that Yukon’s legislation respects the agreements and considers First Nations’ priorities.
With the approval of these joint priorities at today’s Yukon Forum, the leaders have tasked their officials to develop an action plan for their implementation.
