Curriculum Developer

Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of YNLC, the Curriculum Developer will be responsible for the development, adaptation and implementation of Yukon First Nation curriculum. The position will create strategies for curriculum and program piloting, implementation, learner assessments and evaluation, reporting and program evaluation. The incumbent will work closely with a project team comprised of YNLC staff, YFN Language Technicians, YFN Language Instructors/Teachers, Elders, fluent speakers and language learners.

Screening Criteria: Post-secondary degree in an education or curriculum development related field and/or equivalency obtained through coursework and/or experience.

Salary:            Level 9: $72,570.23 – $90,714.15

Youth Language Leadership Project Coordinator

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Manager of Immersion Language Programs, the Youth Language Leadership Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Youth Language Leadership Program and providing support to Yukon First Nation youth from all eight language groups to develop advanced language proficiency in their respective language. The incumbent will coordinate the implementation and evaluation of the language leadership program, youth language leader personal training plans, training sessions, team meetings, celebration and promotion and ensure that the personal aspect of each youth’s training plan is fully addressed.

Screening Criteria: Post-secondary degree in an education or curriculum development related field and/or equivalency obtained through coursework and/or experience.

Salary:            Level 8: $65,010.26 – $81,263.51

Youth Language Leadership Trainee (x 8)

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Youth Language Leadership Project Coordinator, the Youth Language Leadership Trainee will be responsible for studying their traditional Yukon First Nation language with the goal of reaching advanced level proficiency. The trainee will participate in course work, training sessions, practicum, and mentorship to develop a wide range of knowledge, skills and abilities in the broad area of language revitalization.

Screening Criteria: High school education or equivalent, with relevant post-secondary training and/or equivalency obtained through course work and/or work experience.

Salary:            $30.00/hour
